The Mind of Benedict XVI

Review essay, by D. Vincent Twomey, Claremont Review of Books, Fall 2005, on the writings of Joseph Ratzinger, the then recently-elected and now former pope.
The central question, as Ratzinger sees it, is: 'How can Christianity become a positive force for the political world without [itself] being turned into a political instrument and without on the other hand grabbing the political world for itself?'
