The (ethical) Hazards of Other Planets

Chuck Klosterman in The Ethicist column at The New York Times poses a question in terms of space travel, or time travel, but then generalizes.
"Is there a moral problem with allowing someone to try an act in which the outcome is not only dangerous but also impossible to anticipate?"
