​Carnegie to offer new local program for vets

Maggie Bowers reported from Georgia at the Newnan Times-Herald on
"a new program geared toward veterans beginning March 7 at the Newnan Carnegie Library..."

"The event, 'Talking Service: A Reading and Discussion Program for Veterans,' is a nationwide program, which will focus on literature. ...

"Each participants will receive a copy of the anthology, Standing Down: from Warrior to Civilian. The text includes 44 parts ranging from Homer’s Illiad to personal accounts from members of the U.S. Armed Forces who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Standing Down also includes fiction, nonfiction, poetry, essays and memoirs with excerpts that speak to the past experiences and concerns of those who have served in the military and later made the transition back into civilian life."
